We’re still tweaking the format for our Sept. playlist review segment (should be up soon!), so in the meantime, we’re pointing you to another source for some music that we liked from the October BIRP playlist.
Micol Cazzell has his album “Spinners Yarn” up for download on his web site. There’s 10 songs there that The Somebody and I are listening to right now. The song on the BIRP playlist was “Burnside.”
We particularly liked the acoustic guitar and harmonies on the song, and it drove us to find out more about this artist.
From the web site:
Hailing from the suburbs of California’s Central Valley, Indie/Folk Singer-Songwriter Micol Cazzell writes ‘stories with music’ rather than songs. Getting his start in 2008 playing covers in the blossoming Modesto music scene, he’s gone on to release a self-produced full length album fittingly titledĀ “Spinner’s Yarn”in June of 2010.
We like his approach to album sales, and threw some coins in the guitar case for his efforts. Check him out and watch for our playlist reviews coming soon.
Cheers, guys! Thanks for your kind words, and the coins in the case.
